Stress Symptoms

There are many different symptoms that show you are suffering from stress, and they can all severely impact your quality of life. People under stress often suffer from poor sleep, low energy, digestive issues or stomach pain, depression and anxiety, brain fog, high blood pressure, and hormone issues to name a few. Stress can also decrease your motivation, impacting your desire to connect with others and be part of your community. You can end up spending a lot of time trying to manage these symptoms and end up feeling like you’re just ‘getting by’ as you go through life.

If the brain never ‘resets’ itself from the stress that comes at us each day, it will trigger a fight or flight response from the nervous system. Basically your brain thinks you’re under attack, and is preparing the body the best it can to survive. But when your body is hyper-focused on surviving, there’s not much left over for growth, healing and life enjoyment.

It can be very frustrating to look for answers – if you do have a diagnosis, often the side effects of treatment create new, additional problems. And if things haven’t yet deteriorated into abnormal lab test range (even though you may feel things are getting worse), you’re often left without any help or direction at all. And more people than ever are looking for a natural, effective way to turn around the stress that has built up and get healthy without medication.

If a Chiropractic examination shows that your brain and nerves are holding stress, we can help. Using very specific, gentle techniques, we can help your brain and nerves switch out of survival mode and let go of layers of past stress. And when your brain finally gets this ‘reset’, often many stress problems can begin to self-regulate.

With lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels, sleep can become deep and restful. And the energy that had been used to protect and tighten your muscles is freed up and available to use. Lower stress hormone levels trigger activity in the frontal lobes of the brain (used for thinking, focusing, and planning), making it easier to concentrate. Your body will start moving towards balancing hormones and neurotransmitters (brain chemicals), helping you feel better overall. Chiropractic and stress management techniques can be wonderfully effective to help relieve stress symptoms and get you back to enjoying your life.
